PUBLIC VISE: Inhabitants of a slum in the northern suburbs of Lima and its surroundings.
LOCALISATION & INFORMATIONS ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION
Mano a Mano is located 45 minutes from the center of Lima in the popular district of Comas (northern suburbs of Lima). One of its main activities is the “solidarity tourism” whose money raised is used to finance the projects of the association (libraries and games libraries for local children and helps for families, building a skate park …) .
MISSIONS AND TYPE OF ACTIVITIES
• Construction works: Support to the construction of infrastructures to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants and to promote the mixity. Creation of gardens and green spaces.
• Catering: Work in the kitchen of the restaurant solidarity, performing support tasks in confectionery and help with the sale of pastries, maintenance tasks, market …
• Administrative work: Help with the administrative tasks of the host association.
To provide various activities for the benefit of the inhabitants of the popular districts of Lima (construction and renovation of infrastructures, agronomy, DIY, gardening, cooking, cleaning …), to propose microprojects for their well-being, activities of professional and cultural discovery and associative microprojects .
PROFIL OF VOLUNTEERS
Major volunteers motivated by international solidarity, civic engagement and interculturality, participation in the activities of preparation, restitution and valorization of the experience at the return of the site within the framework of the ECSI (Education to the Citizenship and International Solidarity).
