Euromed Network France : “Mediterranean Youth” – CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

Dear Sir or Madam,

The Réseau Euromed France (REF) is a platform gathering 39 civil society organisations involved in the Mediterranean region. It organises an encounter entitled « An Overview of Youth of the Mediterranean Region », which will take place in Casablanca (Morocco) from 3 to 5 April 2017. This is part of a larger program « Mediterranean Youth », which started in October 2015 in Paris (please find the review of the event here : http://euromed-france.org/IMG/pdf/cahier_ref-rencontre_jeunesses-pdf-v1-leger.pdf).

The « Mediterranean youth. An Overview of Youth of the Mediterranean Region » encounter will include thematic workshops (work-training-decent labour/mobility-freedom of movement/art-culture/citizenship-media), field visits, exchange of best practice, capacity-building sessions and a public debate. A specific time will be devoted on the question of young people’s involvement in civil society. This project is realized in collaboration with the Networks for Mediterranean Youth (UNESCO) and the Réseau Euromed Maroc. It is supported by the French Agency for Development, the Fondation de France and the Service de Coopération et d’Action Culturelle (SCAC) of the French Embassy in Algeria.

The goals of the meeting :


o Gather people working on youth issues in Mediterranean countries,
o Present and highlight local initiatives and encourage initiatives building by actors from both banks of the Mediterranean,
o Encourage young people to develop their expertise and skills through exchange of best practice and intergenerational dialogue,
o Produce a collective overview on youth actors’ issues in the Mediterranean basin.

 

Candidates should meet the following criteria :


o They should be involved in an organization or action directed to Mediterranean youth,
o They should live in one of the following countries : Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, France, Egypt, Libya, Syria, Palestine, Malta, Spain, Greece, Lebanon and Portugal

Priority will be given to candidates aged 16 to 29.

We will work mostly in French and Arabic (translation in English is to be confirmed depending on the number of English-speaking people’s applications).
