Do you want to better understand how the EU works? Are you looking for a transnational experience? VoteWatch Europe, Global Initiativ’ and l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) are organizing a simulation of the European Council that will give you the opportunity to participate in the decision-making process of EU.
What is it about?
The EU Council simulation aims to improve youth understanding of the functioning of EU Council. 100 young Europeans will role-play the representatives of the EU Member States and will try to simulate the Council’s decision-making process. The selected participants will have the opportunity to work on 3 policy areas which will be discussed during this simulation.
Some participants will represent one of the 28 EU Member States, others will role-play the European Commission, the European Parliament, the European External Action Service and interest groups’ representatives.
Who can apply?
Residents in France, Italy and the Netherlands, between 18 and 28 years old, who are passionate about EU politics and willing to meet like-minded young Europeans. English language skills are mandatory.
Only 10 participants from each country will be selected
When and Where?
The Council simulation will take place in Brussels (Belgium), between 25th and 27th of November 2016.
The event will bring together 100 young Europeans from Belgium, France, Italy and the Netherlands.
How to apply?
If you are eager to participate, submit a CV and a letter of motivation (both in English) where you must state:
-Your choice for the role to be played in the simulation (EU Member State/ lobbyist / European Commission representative/ EEAS/EP delegation).

The organisers will cover the international travel expenses of participants (up to 50 euros), their accommodation and daily meals (Breakfast and Lunch).
