The REF – Réseau Euromed France and the Algerian organization Jeunesse+ are organizing in Algiers (Algeria), from 12 to 14 April 2018, a meeting entitled “Capitalizing and Enhancing Innovative Practices Towards Mediterranean Youth”.
This meeting comes within the context of a more global projet “Mediterranean Youth”, launched on 9 and 10 October 2015 in Paris, gathering 90 participants. The first meeting “Mediterranean Youth. Overview of the situation of youth in the Mediterranean” that was held in Casablanca from 3 to 5 April 2017.
This meeting in Algiers has the following objectives: capitalizing and enhancing practices and projects implemented by youth and directed toward youth, elaborating the 2017 overview with highlights on adapted and innovative solutions and deepening the network building between actors working on youth-related issues in the Mediterranean.
This meeting will take the form of workshops, field visits, a session opened to the public. It will focus on five major issues: youth access to employment and training, mobility, art and culture, civic participation and climate justice.
The working language will be French and Arabic (English to be confirmed depending on the number of only English-speaking participants).
Profiles of candidates sought:
- be involved in an organization or action in support to Mediterranean youth, linked to one of the 5 topics discussed during the meeting
- be living in one of the following countries: Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, France, Libya, Syria, Palestine, Jordan, Cyprus, Malta, Spain, Greece, Lebanon, Egypt and Portugal.
- Priority will be given to candidates aged between 18 to 30.

As the number of places is limited, a selection of participants will be made by the REF and its partners. The candidates will receive the confirmation of their selection as from 16 February 2017.
This meeting is organized in partnership with Batik International, Act’Or and Nova, with the support of the l’Assemblée Populaire Communale d’Alger Centre, the Agence Française de Développement and Fondation de France.
