RENCONTRES DE LA JEUNESSE ET DE LA DIVERSITÉ 2018

Les Rencontres de la Jeunesse et de la Diversité took place on November 14-30, 2018, the highlight was November 17. During these days, various workshops were organized, such as a YouthPass workshop to talk about EVS from 2018, a webtrotteur day to talk about volunteering, English language discovery workshops for neighborhood children and teenagers by David, a trainee American, a mobility brunch with La Maison des Potes on the theme “a fraternal Europe and solidarity” …

On November 17, the goal was to gather as many people as possible and talk about our association, but also to find new volunteers. Various workshops have been set up throughout the day:

  • The round table, to discuss the year of the European and cultural heritage, in the presence of the European partners from the civil society of youth invited on this occasion.
  • The discovery and information workshop: we spoke with the various volunteers and explained the purpose of the association, as well as the different mobilities that we organize.
  • The language cafĂ©: the language release workshop in English, Spanish and German … over coffee or tea! The goal was to discuss between participants according to the chosen language and they learned and learn the basics of the language.
  • The living library: books are people who tell a story of their life, their experience, their engagement and interact with readers. The themes were inclusion, equal opportunities, freedom of opinion, refugees, respect for diversity. It was about telling one’s own story about one of the chosen themes.

This day allowed us to have a good time together, to meet new volunteers around a small buffet of mulled wine!
